Chalking It UP

Well, here is to another project done today.  I for some reason have been in a painting/recreating mood.  I guess since my house has practically been in the same condition (nothing in it) for the last 4 months, I am just ready for something or anything to look normal.

We have decided to put the house stuff on hold since it has been a disaster… and you know what that means..I will be finishing projects up in the next few week so I can  redecorate my house with my new and old stuff.

Thanks to Pintrest, I got the Idea to paint my silver plater with chalk paint. And when I am finished with my Farm table, I will get 5 more of these babies to do for place settings.  Here are the pics of the O so simple process.

Final Project done… I want to add some burlap at the top eventually…..

Even Apples dog bowl got Shabby chic this weekend…

Chairs, Chairs, Chairs

Well, Its been a little while since I blogged.  Its been a crazy month with our UPCI camps, music, and our own drama with moving (that didn’t happen twice now).

In the midst of all that I have been antique shopping for my “new home”…..I have always wanted a farm table with mix matched chairs and my dream is finally coming true tomorrow…its been delivered straight from Lissa’s.  She recreates old vintage items and sales them.  She heard I wanted a farm table and told me she had one that she had not gotten to redo yet and would sale it to me. I said “Yes” to the Table! I am also getting two chairs from her to go along with it.  So I have quite a few little projects to finish up this summer.

Here are a few of the chairs that will be going around the farm table

This one I bought from Lissa’s

This one I bought for $15 and revamped it myself.

This one I bought shabby and rusted for $20 and I LOVE it

I will post pics of the before and after of the whole farm table and when all the chairs are finished  very soon! TaTa for now.

Friday Art: Book Mobile

I have been feeling artsy all week and its taken me till Friday to actually do something about that feeling.  I am sure in the next couple of weeks I will be sick of art projects due to how much painting we have to do in the next few weeks.

I saw this book mobile I liked on Etsy before I even knew what gender my baby was but opted out of it for a cheaper $12 picture mobile instead.  The book mobile on Etsy that I loved cost $75 and I couldn’t spend that much money on something that really was just a decoration for me and not fun for the baby to look at.

I however made it today for $0.  Well hot glue and a few burns later but still $0. It is my first one and probably needs a little cleaning up but Its not too shabby for my first try.

Choosing my book and ripping out pages ……

and with a lot ripping, folding, and hot glue later……

Happy Weekend Y’all!

Chronicles of Shari Dean

I think I have to back up some before I start with the present.  The present would be mostly about Raylan Mason Dean . So this is how my story goes.

Girl is born.  Boy is born.  Girl meets Boy at 17.  Girl marries Boy at 21.

Five years later a little boy is born.

This little boy consumes our lives.

This was his first time to ever go swimming this week.  He loved it and didn’t want to get out of the pool with the big boys.  He truly is ahead of his time already, so much that it scares mommy.

To top this week off he has starting to crawl some (not full force yet).  Seems like every day now is a huge step to growing up way to fast.  Last night he said his first word “momma”.  He said it so loud and clear as I was walking off to the kitchen.  I looked back and he was looking at me like yeah, you woman.  I turned around, smiled, walked back, and picked him up.  Then I had to rub it into his daddy’s face who was laying playing with him at the time.

Hip Hip Hooray for my first blog post EVER…now I can say Hey, I blog. TaTa for now y’all!
